This property has recently been featured in the Sunday Times. The widely publicised interior book produced by New York/ London publishers Merell, ´Vacation Homes and Perfect Weekend Hideways´ and on the front cover as lead house story in the Spanish publications ´Habitania´ and ´Vivir en el Campo´
Situated in Tarifa between the Natural Park and one of the most beautiful beaches of Spain (a 10km unbroken stretch of white sand).
A charming 3 bedroom , 2 bathroom property that sympathetically combines traditional architecture with a modern un-cluttered interior.
It was created with the aim of retaining as many of the original features as possible, such as thick walls and alcoves, roof tiles, even grape vines, whilst successfully combining them with contemporary features such as polished cement and dark wood effect floors and concealed lightning within the exterior walls. The roof lines have been opened up to incorporate high vaulted, beamed ceilings which maximize on the sense of space and light and large windows have been installed in order to capitalize on the views. An open fire place, central heating and under-floor heating in the bathrooms endures that this house can be equally enjoyed during the winter months.
The landscape designed garden, whilst very much in keeping with the wildness for which Tarifa is renowned, creates a natural heaven and buffer on the days there is a strong levante wind. A covered exterior terrace has been beautifully designed to incorporate smart contemporary furniture and looks on to a grass lawn and lavender pathway which leads you down to the pool, the garden and the magnificent views of the sea beyond. This house is perfect for those who enjoy looking at nature from the comfort of a beautiful designed home.
The house has its own private entrance for cars and a separate entrance if you are entering by foot. This leads to the magnificent antique wooden front doorway and through the hallway and glass doors which open out on to the outside dining area. Immediately to the left of this is a bathroom and shower and on the right the first of the guest rooms. Just past the bath room and again to your left is the main living area, fully equipped kitchen with dish washer and Smeg fridge and a seating area in which to read or watch television or simply to enjoy the views of the garden and the sea beyond. To the back of the area is fully furnished covered terrace leading on to the garden and pool and to the back is a separate larder and laundry area, equipped with both washing and drying machines. To the right of the hallway and the first of the guest bedroom is a corridor which leads to the master bedroom on the left (with views on to the garden), a second guest bedroom to the right and a bathroom at the end with a large window which allows you to enjoy your bath whilst looking at the view.
The outside space comprises a terrace which wraps around the exterior of the house. A section of this is covered by a wooden porch which lends much relief from the glare of the sun. The covered space houses a state of the art gas barbeque and an outside wooden dining table and chairs and to the front there is a lovely soft chill out space from which to lie back on the sofa and enjoy the view. There are sun beds in the garden beyond the terrace and covered parking for three cars.
